Powdered & Sintered Metal Parts

Allied Sinterings, Inc.’s skilled team of professionals has been manufacturing powdered and sintered metal products since 1959. Using only high quality powders and materials, our competency with complicated and intricate geometries is well-known and respected among customers in the telecom, automotive, medical, and industrial equipment industries.

STATE-OF-THE-ART POWDERED METAL TECHNOLOGY

Our Danbury plant houses 3 sintering furnaces and 42 high precision German engineered Dorst Compacting Presses with capacities ranging from ½ ton to 50 tons. We also have a complete in-house tool room and a complete tumbling/finishing department, allowing for the drilling and tapping of the fine components and parts we manufacture.

Typical products include:

  • AGMA quality 8 gears with fine pitches (120 diametral pitch)
  • Pinions
  • Gear boxes
  • Precision planetary drives
  • Sprockets
  • Cams
  • Retainers

A WIDE VARIETY OF MATERIAL CAPABILITIES

We are able to manufacture assemblies, sub-assemblies, medical devices, tools, and circuit breaker components from materials including:

  • Copper-infiltrated materials
  • Custom-blended powders
  • Steel
  • Copper steel
  • Brass powders

Allied Sinterings’ environmentally-controlled facilities help to ensure accurate measurements. We use computer-supported statistical process control, fully-calibrated process monitoring, and a Red Line gear checking double flank machine to check for defects and integrity. This allows us to manufacture precision parts with outside diameters up to 1.25″, heights up to 1″, and tolerances of ±0.001″.

ADDITIONAL MANUFACTURING PROCESSES

In addition to our powdered and sintered metal processes, Allied Sinterings offers:

  • Modeling
  • Manufacturing design
  • Metal conversion engineering
  • Heat treating
  • Plating
  • Oil/plastic impregnation services

Thanks to our lean manufacturing and just-in-time delivery approach, we are able to react quickly to RFQs. Allied Sinterings also offers short project lead times (500 piece minimum), rush services and low and high-volume production runs.

If you need small gears or other miniature components that are manufactured at a significant savings over machined parts, contact Allied Sinterings today at (203) 743-7502 to learn more about our powdered and sintered metal products.
